We will collect and record Your Personal Data from a variety of sources, but mainly directly from you. You will usually provide information during the course of our initial meetings or conversations with you to establish your circumstances and needs and preferences in relation to Mortgages and Insurance. You will provide information to us verbally and in writing, including email.

We may also obtain some information from third parties, for example, credit checks, information from your employer, and searches of information in the public domain such as the voters roll. If we use technology solutions to assist in the collection of Your Personal Data for example software that is able to verify your credit status. We will only do this if we have consent from you for us or our nominated processor to access your information in this manner. With regards to electronic ID checks we would not require your consent but will inform you of how such software operates and the purpose for which it is used.

Credit Searches and Your Consent

We may carry out or arrange for credit reference and fraud prevention checks with licensed credit reference agencies. These may include:

Soft searches, which do not affect your credit score and are used for eligibility assessments; and

Hard searches, which may be recorded on your credit file and visible to other lenders.

These checks are used to verify your identity, assess your creditworthiness, and support the decision-making process for a potential lending application. We will not perform a hard search without your express consent and will clearly inform you if this is required as part of your application.

Your credit file may be accessed multiple times by different parties (e.g. ourselves, lenders, third-party processors) depending on the nature of the finance product being sought. Full details on the use of your data in this process can be obtained upon request.

We do not envisage that the performance by us of our service will involve Your Personal Data being transferred outside of the United Kingdom.

Purpose of processing Retention
Successful commercial finance applications. For the full lending term – six years from the date the application completes.
Withdrawn, stalled, incomplete and failed finance applications 2 years from the date the latest application was started, or 6 years from the application submitted date if application was submitted and subsequently rejected or from creation date if advice has been provided but not pursued.
Enquiry data obtained from third parties that do not result in an application for a commercial finance product. 2 years from the date the lead was received from the Introducer
